As you know, I am an atonement scholar, and my views were very much shaped by my nurture in the Episcopal Church and its liturgy. That liturgy, in my view, retains a Reformed theology within a Catholic form. It is incomprehensible to me that the Vatican would authorize a liturgy that says: “By his (Christ's) one oblation of himself once offered, a full, perfect, and sufficient sacrifice, oblation, and satisfaction. . . .” Somebody didn't do their homework.Richard L.
