A Nice Cuppa

Mr Z  (a.k.a. Zion) had a long overdue bath and trimming this afternoon at https://sarasota.threedog.com/products/shop/ His bathing  and grooming at the grooming section of  Three Dog Bakery was long overdue mostly because I could not get an earlier appointment. Here he is  all well-bathed,  with his paw hairs well trimmed. a two hour project. With his modest look I killed time by visiting my friends Jack, Donna and Ashley for a nice "cuppa".  I rarely drink tea so this was a treat, with a top notch blend. Donna had some of her best china out  Good tea tastes best in good china I brought good English Biscuits  From the Publix International Foods aisle Truth to tell I had never heard of the Hill Co. Biscuits.  They were very good. Here's a bit of history about the company, which explains why I'd never heard of it. https://www.hillbiscuits.com/history Incidentally    I've never heard English people say "let's have a spot of tea".  I've only heard

SLEEPLESS IN SARASOTA

Image
During sleepless nights  (frequent in my case)  I try not to fret and fuss.  Instead I sing aloud the hymns of my youth. (Zion doesn't seem to mind). I sometimes surprise myself by remembering every verse of every hymn. "Yes God Is Good"  came to my my and voice on Sunday night (6th June). I doubt that I've sung this hymn in three score years, but it all came back to me. It's a mid-Victorian hymn of simple faith, clearly written by someone who lived in the country side and not in an industrial town or city. I offer it to you  -  did you also sing it many years back? https://youtu.be/VthiQXgNXAM (P.S.  I do not, by choice, have a clock in my bedroom.  Nor do I wear my watch. I choose not to ascertain the time -  that would only make me fret a wee bit more).

Life and Food In Yummyville

Image
Lunch today  (7th June 2021) Roasted Brussels Sprouts ( a bit over roasted, so we'll call them caramelized) With roasted Bratwurst, and Dijon Mustard. The Brats are fabulous, purchased at Trader Joe's, and  made in Germany. Tee-hee -   a simple European Community meal. Mustard from France; Brats from Germany; Sprouts from Belgium (maybe!) However you see it, I call it " a lunch from Yummyville" And the Brats are gloriously delicious!

Saturday ( in this case June 5th 2021) Is Cooking Day.
