Povey Prattle

Lunch today LAMB CURRY.  Home made, with meat, onions, tomato, red pepper etc  (and a side of ciabatta bread). Not bad at all! As I eat Zion pretends to sleep, but his ears and nose are alert in the hope that I will drop a piece of  the lamb to the floor. I didn't do so, neither by accident, nor "accidentally on design". Poor deprived boy! 😏 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Shepherd's pie:  l unch for tomorrow, and to share with friends. PLEASE NOTE  ( and this is terribly important!) 😉 (1) It is Shepherd's Pie, NOT Shepard's Pie.   (2) If it is made with beef rather than with lamb, it is Cottage Pie, not Shepherd's Pie. So There! (3)  The best Cottage/Shepherd's pies were made by skillful and frugal mothers of my youth, using the minced (ground) Beef or Lamb,  leftover from the Sunday meal.  They were smart those woman were!

In the U.S.A. the famous Nipper was used to advertise the R.C.A. Company In the U.K he advertised HMV, the British subsidiary of RCA I like the United Kingdom version best. It portrays Florida's Governor Ron "Nipper" DeSantis as he listens to His Master's Voice   ( POTUS ) from the White House. Nipper DeSantis won't do a thing until he gets the nod of approval from POTUS. POTUS does not approve of face masks.  Therefore Ron "Nipper" DeSantis will not mandate their use, Thus our Covid 19 rates of infection are sky rocketing, and people in Florida are dying because Ronnie will not act without the approval of Donnie

This Paul McCartney song has long been one of my all time favourites; so much so that I had it sung by a local artist on my last Sunday as Rector at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Fitchburg, MA. That last Fitchburg  Sunday (1980) was Easter Day.   I had always thought of "Blackbird sing in the dead of night" as an Easter song. I see this (available for rental) Pontoon Boat most mornings at Marina Jack. But who is Mrs. P? Is it: My sister-in-law Izzy  ( Andrew) . My sister-in-law Alison  (David) , My sister-in-law Angela (Stephen, sadly deceased) . My sister-in-law Wendy (Martyn) . S'pose it could be my mother  ( Evelyn) but she is no longer with us. Certainly not a Mrs. P immediately connected to me since I have never married! Whatever.  The boat makes me think of Izzy, Alison, Angela, and Wendy every day; and my Mum!

Haven't seen this boat leave its moorings at Marina Jack  (Sarasota) in at least three years.
