Caught: Well and Truly Caught.

 This arrived in the mail on Saturday 20th March 2021




Such a naughty  act last Feb on my way with Zion to Arlington Park in Sarasota.


I wanted to call the Police Dept. and say "but I didn't mean to do it".


Then I remembered that as a kid if I stepped out of line I might say "but Mum/Dad I didn't mean to do it".  "But you did it" they would say.

So I'll cough up the mandatory $158  fine.


Uncle Joe Biden sent me $1,400 in "stimulus money" .  I am stimulating the local  Governmental "pot" this month by almost $400  with this fine; and with  the renewals of my Driving License  (for seven years); and my  Vehicle Registration for two: both due this year.

And so it comes and goes. but I am still better off  than many a good and hardworking citizen who does not have the benefits of a work pension and Social Security which are mine,

The background   I have known the Keller/Bonsey family since 2000 when I became the Rector at St. James's, Cambridge, MA. They (Elisabeth Keller and the Revd. Steven Bonsey with their four children Noah, Sam, Josiah and Annie) had come back to Cambridge from Hawaii where Steve had been the Rector of an Episcopal parish. Steve had just been appointed as a Chaplain at Tufts University (no Sunday morning duties) so the entire family was able to enrich our common life at St. James's - which they did with great love and joy. I count them as friends and have stayed in touch with them since my retirement.  Noah, the oldest son is eloquent in Arabic (he spent a year in Damascus when Syria was a safe place).  He has developed a super career as an analyst of social media in the near East.    Noah worked in Tampa for a while a few years ago, so he and I were a...

It began in Bristol U.K. "A man dies" and "Jesus Christ Superstar"
