Rain Moules Dogs
It's easy to forget that summer is the rainy season in south west Florida.
We advise our guests to go to the Beach in the morning as we anticipate wild thunderstorms and monsoon rains, often at about 4:00 p.m.
It's been different this year. We are in a stalled weather system with overcast skies, rumbling thunder and short, sharp heavy rainfalls throughout the day.
The dog and I enjoyed two longish walks earlier (one at the Park) but as the day progressed we've had to take mini-walks in between the heavy showers.
( How I wish that we could export our rain to fire ravaged northern California).

At about 3:30 this afternoon I had a sudden yen for Moules Frites.
Oh Belgium where are thou?
One of our local Whole Foods stores has an in store cafe (somewhat pretentiously called "Brassiere Honore"). (The store is on Honore Ave).
Moules/Frites are served there. Should I take a chance and eat there, or am I bound to discover that Whole Foods Moules/Frites are but a pale imitation of the Belgian original?

An Ohio family owns a villa immediately across the street from mine. It's their holiday home, and they are here for just a few weeks each year.
This year they have brought with them a young Labradoodle named Clover.
He and Zion have become the best of pals!
